WHAT IS LIFE COACHING?

“Everybody needs a Life Coach. Whether it’s a top level executive, a graduate student, a homemaker, a homeless person, or the President of the United States.” - Tony Robbins

A life coach is a wellness professional that helps people make progress in their lives and attain greater fulfillment. Life coaches assist their clients in improving relationships, careers, and day-to-day lives.

Life coaches can help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and develop strategies for overcoming obstacles. Life coaches can help identify and emphasize your unique skills and talents. By helping you to make the most of your strengths, life coaches provide the support you need to achieve long-lasting change.

Today, life coaches are increasingly present in the mainstream. A growing number of creatives, executives, and entrepreneurs are now teaming up with life coaches to achieve success in their professional and personal lives.

One of the main benefits of working with a life coach is the ability to gain a fresh, informed perspective on problems that you face. In addition to offering new insight into challenges, a life coach can help you to identify unhelpful patterns that could be standing in the way of your success.

Many people view working with a life coach as a strategy to go from their current circumstances to the life they want to lead. Here are some of the positive outcomes that could result from deciding to work with a life coach:

  • Better work/life balance

  • Elimination of long-held fears and anxieties

  • Greater creativity

  • Greater financial security

  • Improved communication skills

  • More satisfying work life

  • Stronger relationships with friends and family

  • Identifying your passion and carving out your ideal career path

  • ·Accountability can be one of the prime advantages of working with a life coach

Life Coaching Isn’t Therapy

Coaching services are different from therapy in that the focus is to facilitate personal and relational development, not to treat psychopathology. Therapy deals primarily with the past of an individual, establishing a psychiatric diagnosis, working to resolve mental and emotional conflicts, all with the goal of gaining understanding to make the present better. Coaching looks at the present and sets goals for skill acquisition and performance improvement in the future. As such, coaching services are not appropriate for individuals who are significantly psychologically distressed or impaired. While therapy focuses on diagnosis and treatment, the focus of coaching is education and training.

No matter what area of your life you want to improve or transform, hiring a life coach ensures that you don’t have to do it alone, you’ll reach your goals, and you will fulfill your potential!
